Regression - what age?

For those of you who have children with an ASD who were developing normally and then regressed, what age did the regression happen?

I know that it's typically between 12 and 24 months, but was wondering if anyone could pin it down a bit more for me.

DD's 'crash' happened at 8 months

ds1 regressed at 12 months following infection with the herpes virus (eczema herpeticum)- although he had some signs beforehand- the regression was quite obvious.

What I didn't really appreciate until recently when I completely depressed myself watching videos was how long the regression went on for. I think he was streets ahead of where he is now language wise at 2 (which makes sense as he "passed" a private school entrance test at 2 PMSL). No chance of depressing myself again. By 9.30am this morning he'd broken both our video recorders. I digress. School non-contact days don't you just love them?
