Hope everyone has been well.

Just to let you know I've not gone AWOL but RL has been a bit too much recently and I just don't have any energy or fight left.

Anyway over to you and choccies are on the table.

HelensMelons · 04/03/2011 16:36

Hope you don't mind me popping in; feel a bit overwhelmed this week as well. Have bought a crunchie for later, not sure if I can share, aibu?!

SparkleRainbow · 04/03/2011 16:45

No worry Helens, you hold on to the crunchie, but help yourself to a Brew or other beverage of your choice Wine? Grin

HelensMelons · 04/03/2011 16:50

Oh, thank goodness, sharing it would be a step too far this week!! Gonna have a cuppa (dp not home yet!) x

auntevil · 04/03/2011 16:54

Nice to have you back Carrotcake - RL can be such a pain, hope things work out.
I'm on the diet coke - but we do have a drinks cabinet (very 70s eh?!!) and it has various tipples - so please feel free.
Only chocolate here is the dairy free variety - so probably not many takers!
Helens - YANBU - unless it is one of those big multipacks of crunches! Grin

Thecarrotcake · 04/03/2011 17:35

Awwww shucks Blush

thank you, you know you lot just saying "hi", gave me a lump in the throat, as it's probably the nicest thing that's been said to me for about two weeks!

Have my feet up now, dd is watching a DVD and we are munching on home made share platter :)

Hello everyone.

We're having a good week round here. No 'incidents' at school (that I've been told about Grin )

SparkleRainbow · 04/03/2011 18:02

That is good news indigo! We have had a low pain week, good week at school, but loads of medical appointments for ds, lots of chasing empty promises, you get the idea!!

Hi Carrot, you have been missed. I was starting to worry if you were ok. Hope things settle down for you soon, do come and rant/vent or sob on us whenever you need to - always happy to lend an ear/shoulder - whatever's needed. Smile

My news is that, as per my other thread, ds1 is struggling with something to do with his eyes - not sight exactly, but definitely something very odd going on. On top of that he's come home from school this afternoon and reported a combination of red and black poos, which doesn't sound at all good - especially when coupled with his current ghostly white complexion.

Finally received his dx report this afternoon. Honestly, what a waste of paper! It basically says he meets the WHO ICD-10 criteria for a dx of Aspergers and that they felt he has significant sensory and motor issues as well, which would be assessed separately by the OT dept. (That was done a couple of weeks ago and they not only turned around the report in less than a week, they also amended it at my request within 48 hrs - as opposed to 6 weeks for the ASD Assessment Unit to write 2 sides of A4, most of which is a title page and list of professionals involved! Angry)

They've managed to state that the EP has been working with the school towards Statutory Assessment (er no ... I brought in the EP due to anxiety issues) and that the school should continue to monitor and support his educational, social and communication difficulties in accordance with SENCOP and the Inclusion Development Programme (Teachernet). Finally they recommended we attend the local support group we are already signed up for and that we buy some books by 'Patricia Tanguay' on NVLD - only her name is actually Pamela Tanguay! Hmm

So, I have a week to ask for any changes or additions - anyone have any ideas on what I should definitely make sure is on the dx report? We were told that the dx report would include reports from all the professionals involved in the assessment process, so how we ended up with less than a page of stuff acutally about ds is beyond me.

On a more positive note, ds2 seems a lot better and dh's Zombie party - at which I was introduced to some absolutely gorgeous, if ridiculously strong, types of gin (we held it in a gin parlour Grin) which get you very drunk, very fast but without a trace of a hangover the next day - was an absolute blast! Grin I had lots of fun making the grave cake, zombie hand and headstone along with a few dozen cupcakes complete with chocolate gravestones, marzipan zombie hands and entrail buttercream.

purplepidjin · 04/03/2011 18:14

Professionals seem to be a whole load of shite, moose. And yet you have to jump through so many hoops to become one! Wish I had the dosh Sad

Carrot, fantastic to see you. Will buy you (and anyone else) a drink at the bar later - am off down t'pub to see a band Grin Have you had a chance to do the measurements?

at everyone

devientenigma · 04/03/2011 18:28

Just saying Hi to everyone.
Week same old same old for us, predictable but unpredictable. DS slept at his nanna's for the 1st time last night!!!
Just really shattered with having him 24/7!!

Carrot you named changed again??

Thecarrotcake · 04/03/2011 18:32

Moose am pleased that you got your reports, and worked out who the author of the book was! :) ( honestly.. Tisk.. Some professionals!)

purple .. not yet love, we have had a rather large amount of violent meltdowns from ds.

And it looks like dd might be joining in on the road of SN, just been refered to a paediatric rheumatologist ( sp) as she is quite a lot of pain more often these days, rather than just being bendy :(

but I haven't forgotten you :) and I will get there with it.

Does anyone know how long ESD takes to dx?

OP posts:
Ineedalife · 04/03/2011 18:34

Hi all and glad you are back carrotSmile.

Dd3 went back to school quite well and we've had a reasonable week.

Barmy HT told me and another mum a massive lie today, nothing to do with SN but shocking never the less.

Am going to start looking at other schools, I can't leave Dd3 somewhere where the most senior teacher tells whacking great lies to parentsShock.

Thecarrotcake · 04/03/2011 18:35

Dev, no name change ( arsenic then carrot) :)

OP posts:
SparkleRainbow · 04/03/2011 18:36

Moosemamma - have you actually got anything resembling this "We were told that the dx report would include reports from all the professionals involved in the assessment process"?

devientenigma · 04/03/2011 18:37

Thought you had stuck cupcake in or is that someone else, I think I have been out of it too long lol

SparkleRainbow · 04/03/2011 18:37

Carrot do you mean EDS, as in Ehlers Danlos Syndrome?

SparkleRainbow · 04/03/2011 18:38

If so, I can help with that, that is my life at the mo! Sad Confused

moosemama · 04/03/2011 18:43

Oh Carrot, poor dd. Sorry to be dim, but what's ESD?

Devient, sorry things are still tough for you. Great news that ds slept at his Nanna's though. Can you make a regular thing to give you some breathing space?

Thecarrotcake · 04/03/2011 18:45

That's the one sparkle :(

ds1 has some hypermobility, ds2 has more, I am hypermobile but dd is really suffering, calpol doesn't seem to do much for her. Saw the GP today and he refered to rheum pead, after pulling her skin and looking at joints. " you may want a dx of EDS for her, and paed will want to rule out other syndromes ".

So I called the booking thing and her appointment is on the 18th of this month! Shock
