Just after some advice!

My Ds will not have his teeth brushed and as a result his back teeth are starting to rot it seems.

He either don't like the taste of the mouth wash or say it hurts.

DS is 5 and is HFA x

Any tips or advice

awkward my ds hated the taste took me while going through all the diff ones but the other thing is he hates how it "feels" i found when he was smaller he pref at least the soft bristles one now hes older he loves asdas own minty /flouride one (its mild mint) and a colgate brush that has some rubber bristles round the edge med bristles in middle the rubbers bit softer on the gums i think

it is frustrating, isn't it. DS2 hates the way the brushing feels, no matter what type of brush, and hates the taste of the toothpaste.

Toothbrushing used to need a bit of a headlock to get done here. Still does some days, just less struggling now. Grin Sounds awful, doesn't it? Blush But it's got to be done...

My ds likes one of those toothbrushes that has batteries and he likes colgate - nothing too minty but he is not keen on cleaning his knashers so bribary at times x

we get fuzzy brushes from this site who are very quick to deliver and also use collis curve toothbrushes which clean more thoroughly than regular brushes for those times when you can get a quick brush in there! We also encourage him to chew with dental gum.

I found a toothbrush that flashes! Would that make any difference?

can i hijack the thread and ask does anyone have any idea how on earth i get my DS to wear his removable brace Sad he really hates that even more than the brushing and today created merry hell at the dentist when she wanted to put the floride on his back teeth

my dd hates having her teeth cleaned dentist said use an electric even if you are not in there very long it does a lot of work.

We did theraputic toothbrushing devised by SALT and it worked fantasticaly for my son who is extremely orally aversive ( he won't put anything in his mouth, especially not food and is completely tube fed, for additional reasons not just the refusal I should add).

Anyway he will happily brush his teeth now and will also allow me to to do it sometimes.

If you want to, please get in touch and I can tell you how we did it. Using lots of pictures etc and starts off not even brushing teeth!!
