Hi can anyone advise me as to which one is best to use? Both are quite alot of money, £93 for Widget and £209 for boardmaker. Unsure as to what one i should invest in. A friend says Widget and Makaton teachers say Boardmaker confused!!!!! I would like to invest in one for my autistic son as he uses PECs at home and school, and i will need acess to symbols full time. Be grateful if anyone has any advice to help me make a choice for long term investment in either of the above!

I have always used Boardmaker and can't say if Widgit is better or what the differences are. Have you checked if you can get a student rate? Most software companies, even Microsoft, will sell stuff much cheaper to kids. HTH.

We use boardmarker. Talk to SALT, they maybe able to supply the softwear that they use, also you could try your loccal sn school, they often allow you to go in and use their softwear. We just used the free trial on boardmarker (printed loads off at once), now dd2 hardly uses PECS so i'm pleased i didn't sign up to anything.
