Have been recieving DLA for ds1 since March last year. This was awarded just for ODD, do I now need to contact them and tell them of the dx of aspergers and will it make much difference to the claim?

It will only make a difference if his needs have changed, so if you now provide more care it will increase likewise if you now provide less it will reduce.I would inform them of the dx and whether or not the care needs have changed then they will send you a form if needed.

Thanks
He is already getting the higher rate care which is why I wondered whether it would make a difference

You should tell them. If nothing else, just to make it more straightforward when renewal time comes. Some children have been turned down in the past on account of their needs being too 'different' (aka fake) on renewal. So by telling them now, they won't be surprised when you renew and say 'aspergers with ODD'.
