My almost 6 y.o DS (ASD) has a friend coming to play at half term - it is his first actual play date (not to do with DD, not a group party and not the child of one of my friends) It is a boy who likes him from school and is apparently excited to be coming over! I am so happy for DS as his communication/social skills are really not great, but he has managed to make a good enough impression on someone that they would want to visit him! 
I just had to share that here as it is hard to explain why this is such a big deal this is to me to people who aren't in the same boat!!
