Hi just wanted to say as ive been a MN a few weeks now not long im finding the site very usefull thank you all but i dont want everyone (im only speaking for myself) to think its all so bad,how much of a wonderful joy ASD and AS chilren bring ive thre DC there ALL different and special but my little "tyke" Ds is so extra cuddly and loving (only when he instigates it of course) lol but he comes out with wonderous things, funny things that bring a smile and laughter to each and every day these children are the blessed ones everythings seems simpler to him its black or its white he gets depressed yes and angry but when hes happy hes up with the stars , they get far to much grief & bad press from people who have no clue what their about bless them ,if we find things hard god only knows how they feel most of the time or cope (sometimes they dont cope well butt they never give up) just like we cant give up the fight for our beautiful Little ones , so i applaud them all lets hope we can bring a change in society and the "establishments" awful treatment of them

Well said Betty, glad you are finding MN usefull. I have 2 lovely daughters both touched with Autism (AS and HFA), yes there are tough times but i feel blessed to have such lovely caring children, i try and focus on the good times and forget the bad. The world would be a very boring and sad place with out Autistic people.

yes, well said betty. i've only been on MN a few weeks to, it is fantastic to know there are other families out there going through same as us. I have 2 NT ds, and ds age 10 severe autism, gdd, low muscle tone, pica. Its hard going at times but he is the most handsome, gorgeous adorable placid natured little darling and i could never imagine our life without him. on a bad day its hard but look to tomorrow its another day. Never say Never. So glad joined MN (never knew about it before poor riven), wish i'd joined years ago. Look forward to reading threads, giving support and getting some advice too. Some of it makes you laugh what our little dc get up to. Each and every one of them are so very special.

DH and I were just saying the other day that people don't often see the 'better' side of dcs with ASD-Our ds is getting more eccentric by the day and he is really funny at times-

There is a very difficult side to his behaviour, but when he's happy,he's great-

I too wish I had found this site years ago Smile

That's lovely OP Smile

This FB group is also brilliant.

The photographs make me cackle with laughter and the videos are great if you need a bit of a (good) cry.
