CBT for children?

Hi,
At our recent Tribunal which we didn't win one of the things that the Ed Psyc advised was that dd needs to have some CBT.
Now almost 2 months since our panel and no-one seems to know who or where this is going to be done???? Head now acting SENCO doesn't seem to know, the LEA say they don't fund it-yet it was their Ed Psych that suggested this for dd.
Has anyone's children had CBT for anxiety and if so who has done it?
Thanks

yes you would think if the ed psycologist says dd needs it you would think they would refer you on to a child psycologist who specialises in CBT hmm surely if its in the statement (legal and binding) they have to fund it sounds like there giving you the run around and penny pinching to me you would think DD would have to see someone at the child development clinic , id ask PP mines brilliant or contact SNAP or any advisory service in yr area im sure its illegal for the LEA ect to ignore it if its in your statement Angry

My ds has had some very basic CBT for anxiety via his EP. As I understand it, there's not enough funding for enough EP sessions for CBT to be effective if delivered via their service. Ds was allocated 8 sessions and we got extra sessions thrown into that because his EP was a supervised trainee.

At his assessment we were told the only way for him to get further CBT would be either for us to pay and go private or via a referral to CAMHS (which we'd already been turned down for Angry).

My son has ASD high functioning, and recently a further diagnosis of OCD.

He was referred urgently BY THE SCHOOL to see a Child Psychiatrist who then sent him for CBT. Early days yet!

Hi

I have just completed a course of CBT for my sons anxiety, the school told me about a local anxiety clinic to which they could make a referall but recommended that I ask my GP to do it as it would be quicker.

Dd is just about to start this, referral to CAHMS by school supported by community CAHMS/Social Services.
