I had a email from DS Clinic Pyschologist who suggested doing some specific therapeutic work with DS and myself after they filmed a session with DS!!

I cannot help but think they are doubting my parenting skills??

Anyone else had this kind of work done with them?

Do not be afraid. Treat it like the interview question 'What are your weaknesses' and suggest areas for the 'specific therapeutic work'. They may have other suggestions, you could accept those instead, once you've demonstrated insight, reflection, willingness to change etc.

For example, find some medium size points that would make life easier if resolved, but are actually the flip side of strengths that you have. Eg: How can I make it clear when I disapprove of a behaviour? What strategies can help me recover faster from the strain of keeping calm during a meltdown? How can I work with the teacher effectively so we maintain a consistent approach?

Personally, I'd probably ask them straight what they see as needing to change, but then I'm rather blunt!
