Hi

My 9 year old DS1 has a CAMHS assessment on Thursday. All very odd, years of DS1 finding school / social situations difficult and school not interested. Then suddenly head of year thinks he should be assessed for Aspergers type high functioning autism type stuff.

I feel very confused, DS1 is definitely a puzzle but not sure how to diferentiate between his issues and our crap / not very strict parenting.

Anyway CAMHS assessment - he is coming with me, what should I expect???

Lots of questions going right back to when he was a baby.

Maybe some kind of questionaire which will give them an indication of whether he is on the spectrum or not.

Good luck, we are in this process but school are no help to us at all. Maybe some has noticed something in his behaviour/personality that is only becoming obvious as he is getting older?

Family history type things .. Who , what job they do/ did.. Anything medical etc... Pregnancy/developement... Etc etc..any issues you have and what parenting strategies you have tried or use etc etc.
Any sleep issues .. I think that is what we had .. But it was a while ago now.
