Size 7 Nappies

Hi

My DS is 5 (ASD) and is getting too big for size 6 nappies. He is partially potty-trained and manages in pants in the day-time. At night he is wet and tends to go to the poo so we need a nappy rather than pyjama pants.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Jackny

hi try this link....

www.tena.co.uk/Children/Product-Pavilion/Where-to-buy/

i believe they do size 7 HTH

bigcar · 06/02/2011 21:16

do you get nappies from your continence service? If not I'd suggest calling your health visitor and enquiring. Dd3 has size 7 liberos, made by tena, they're provided by the PCT so I don't know where you'd buy them.

Thanks for your suggestions. I haven't tried the Health Visitor as I wasn't sure at what age DS would qualify for nappies. What age is it in your area?

My DD was getting nappies from the HV at that age. I dont think its an age thing its a size thing.

bettyboop63 · 06/02/2011 21:34

i didnt even know i could get them via HV , my DS is 10 and still in pull ups at night would i qualify? hes a big 10 as the pull ups i buy are for up to 14 and they are just starting to get a little bit to snugSad

In our area incontinence products are only given to those with both day and night time needs. Ask the health visitor (or school nurse if your child is in a snschool). Make sure they know his full needs.

bigcar · 07/02/2011 09:25

it's 4 here for nappies, like magso they only provide for those using them day and night but it may different for each area.

bettyboop63 · 07/02/2011 12:18

oh ok ty grrr all these years when he did wear them day and night up till he was 8 no1 told me Sad pitty i didnt discover MN earlier lol he now only wears them at night hes 10

bigcar · 07/02/2011 12:24

it's worth asking still, you won't know your areas policy until you do Smile

shazian · 07/02/2011 12:35

my ds age 10 wears nappies all the time. got them from continence service from age 4. due to his size no longer pampers but get attend slips which are same as nappies only bigger, still have sticky tape on side to keep them on. in my area a friend has 7 yr old who needs them for nights only and they are still supplied.

magso · 07/02/2011 14:12

Yes still worth asking! Betty I did the same did not ask until ds was almost there by day. I made the mistake of underplaying ds issues - as you do!!

growlybear · 07/02/2011 14:16

Worth finding out from hv etc.If they wont supply if you ask at a chemist they can usually order. We have had to do that when we have run out before.Quite expensive though.

jackny · 07/02/2011 19:58

Thanks for all your responses - I will try the HV as DS is still only partially potty-trained. If I have no luck I will try the website.

hi where i live its 3 years old my ds2 whos four has just got his first lot of fixies size 6 but they are too small so will need the next size

cornishshelley · 07/02/2011 20:51

Definitely contact your health visitor/school nurse/community nurse nappies should be supplied for all children over 4 yrs by continence service assuming there is a health problem or learning disability and if the child is in receipt of DLA (disability living allowance) then from age 3 yrs.
Hope that helps
