I have a 16 yr old ds who is moving on to post-16 provision which is boarding up to 4 nights a week.
I've been told that if he stays more than 2 weeks he will lose DLA but I'm in the midst of gathering information on mobility/carers allowance.
I don't get respite or direct payments so can't help there specifically, sorry.

Sorry again, I mean 2 nights per week.

If he s 16 he may be entitled to employment support allowance, but it can effect tax credits.

ESA also means the parents loses child benefit

Yes that is correct, but you can get free school meals and transport, so you have to add it all up to see whats best .

It is all very confusing, and I am putting aside an entire morning to get the situation straight. But TBH he's going there even if I have to sell the DH.
