Don't worry about the test, it is quite a common one. They are asked to do little puzzles, identify objects etc and they ask lots of development questions and take a full history.(my son was not very cooperative) My son had it at about 2.6 yrs, he wasn't using any words and didn't play with age appropriate toys etc. The results showed that he had global development delay with many autistic traits that are now being followed up and we are awaiting / expecting a diagnosis of ASD soon.

My son was also referred for hearing tests because of his lack of speech, his hearing is normal but they have to check.

my ds also had it too. not big thing, but they write a report about where the child is in relation to different areas, it was useful in making them recognise ds really did have issues, and I wasn't imagining it.
(ds has learning disabilities, and later diagnosis for ASD.)

Don't worry about the test, it's not very intrusive and the results can be really useful.
