Got award today!
Middle personal care
Higher mobility
Sent carers allowance off today as well, we only knew about DLA from Mumsnet so thank you all who've mentioned it as we had no clue.
Is carers means tested or what happens?

DD's birthday on 22/10 she'll get some extra special toys now

Well done Piffle. When I got my DLA I received over a £1000 backdated, so my ds got those extra few presents as well.

That's bad news coppertop, I presume you'll get it all backdated if you're succesful, what an awful wait for you.

sadly we got no back date, we got the forms in April but as we had to wait until July for a full opthamological assessment and then til August for a further orthoptic test, we were delayed in sending it back, so they have not backdated it.
I rung about this to ask for new forms but the lady said send the old ones in with a covering letter - I was a bit surprised really as dd has had her condition since birth so if we'd known we could have claimed an awful lot earlier...
Feel lucky to be getting it all really though after some of the trouble some of you have had...
