Oooh! I'm happy girl!!! Just got call from senior speech therapist and after my ringing everyone in the centre since June they have finally caved in and are organising an assessment for ds on the 24th September!!!!

She kept emphasising that this did not mean that they could provide any help for him (they only do pre-school normally) but I have won this battle and am well and trully ready for the next one, once we get their professional opinions on his speech!

We will continue to fight the good fight!!!

Good for you, Rebi. The SALT situation in Northern Ireland, as with elsewhere in the UK, is pretty poor. Keep on pushing and stand firm for your son's needs!

God this annoys me- why do they put such ridiculous time limits on therapy! Fancy only treating pre-school children! God knows what they'd make of my osn. He's starting school, talks but is totally unintelligable and has a language disorder. Too bad he's not pre-school!

Well done though- being a "Mother from Hell" can work sometimes! Well done!

UK chapter anyone?
