i get 4 per day and my DS is 7. i've been told thats the maximum amount allowed, so i have to buy some myself

bigcar · 24/01/2011 17:04

we get 4 but that more or less does us, dd3 is very poor at drinking. There is not supposed to be a blanket number, it's supposed to be what you need as per the reply from the mumsnet/edcm campaign. I would consider at the very least resurrecting the campaign thread and let mnhq know things are no better.

I get 5 a day, we are supposed to have 3 in our area.
I logged amount of fluid in and weighed used nappies for around 2 weeks to prove we needed more than 3 and won the fight. If your child soils as well, that is supposed to account for one nappy, that would then have left me with 2 per day, even they agreed that it wasn't enough. They go by the companies figures for how much a nappy absorbs, the companies do it in a lab and don't take into account the child moving round, sitting on the nappy ect.

DS has five a day. We split it between a stick on pad for daytine (3 a day) and nappies for night.

We have five a day.In my area they go on need and not minimum amount. Not every child is the same.Things really are no better regarding nappies though you still have to fight. We took the pct to the health and parliamentry ombudsman and one our case for better nappies ie one's that don;t leak.

Ds2 is 5 and still in nappies fulltime. We haven't been offered any, but then again I've not asked for any. He still fits into size 5+ or 6 of the regular ones. When he gets too big for those then I'll have to check if we are entitled to get a quota of the pads, but as I could still fit Ds1 into the size 6 nappies until he went out of them last year fully (ignoring the near nightly accidents) I'm hoping Ds2 won't be needing the pads for a while. Unfortunately I can't see him being out of nappies for some time.

Ds is 10 and still in nappies fulltime. Was told he gets max of 5 per day, this wasnt enough constant running out. After getting onto helath visitor who did review was awarded extra as he goes through approx 8 per day and also have to supply them to school.
