You had a big belly LOL at your cheapskate comment. Can't beat that old saying of looking after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves!
It's so nice when the system works - it restores your faith - even if just only for a little while!
I hope your DS enjoys his Peppa pig cake - and perhaps a trip to Peppa pig world on the pounds that will look after themselves? Grin

Loool,I am The original peppa pig haha!!! My sis never had a pedi at the time of her claim for her son (dx aspergers) just had te back signed from her friend who is a psychiatrist and then told them to write to the school, she never used the guide but she's a social worker so has a way with words, but she was awarded DLA care middle rate and mobility lower rate for her little man in two weeks,Personally I think using the celebra guide is brill,as the consultant said to me make sure that The fact he need support in the night is CLEAR!! Goodluck let us know how you get on! Ps-there's a slice of peppa pig cake here for you all and pombears =D Bear xx

This is good to hear. Glad you had good results!

My god, I am still wading through the DLA paperwork. Perhaps I'm giving them too much detail and examples? 30 typewritten pages thus far (for all the sections as there's just not room in the boxes) and still have a bit to go yet. I was told to put literally everything in! Plus copies of letters and everything that supports it. It's going to be a huge package to post!

Hello!

I completed the original personal care form when DD2 (3.7) was a 1yr.

They awarded low rate care.

That was fine - but things have not got much easier (she is way behind her 2.6 sister DD3).

DD2 gets was awarded high rate mobility last year, but I didn't re-submit the personal care form.

I need to give up some of my working hours to be with her(my Mum was helping but is now struggling), but have been told I do not qualify for Carer's allowance.

Can I re-submit the personal care form?

Is it worth the trouble?

Looking forward to all your replies.

xxx

Hiya yeah I say go for it,if she entitled to HR mobility I'm sure she must entitled to some care rate!!!

Triggles don't forget to photocopy everything that you send and i agree send it recorded as they can say they have not received it.

superfantastic · 24/01/2011 12:58

bsac15 Id resubmit, if she gets HRM Id say you would need to look at care again, big difference between 1 year old and 3.7.

I think you can earn up to £100 per week and get carers allowance so if your hours are reduced you may qualify. :)

Dont forget to update your tax credits too on DCs DLA award.

Triggles I sent in 26 typed pages, all my documents, 3 statements and examples of visuals...im sure they didnt read it as they took 2 days to award mrc!

bigcar · 24/01/2011 13:03

I went for the bombard them with paperwork approach too Grin I posted my renewal 10 days ago and was told on the phone this morning a decision has already been made, apparently I don't have to worry, that's all she would say Smile just got to wait for the letter before I can relax!

WHAThis, well done, must be a relief, has he had the cake yet? Smile

WHAThisFlappinNotFlyin · 24/01/2011 13:56

Thank you, I definitely have copies of everything, it's almost all ready to go. A frightening 43 pages of typewritten stuff, plus copies of numerous letters and reports, IEPs, and various other things. Here's hoping it will all go through quickly. I ALMOST feel a bit sorry for whoever has to read it! Grin
