If you've had a letter telling you they are carrying out a statutory assessment then you don't need to do anything. They will write to all the professionals involved in your daughter's case asking for reports.

You should also get a form to complete with your views and depending on her age your DD may get one too.

Well done for winning the first battle!

What if there isnt any professionals involved because the school has only just decided to send the referals.

The school needs to show that they cannot meet your DD's needs from their own resources so they will send copies of IEP's showing what they have tried and been unsuccessful with.

If the panel feel they need reports from people like Speech and Language therapists or Ed Pych they will ask them to see your DD and report back.

I does depend on what her difficulties are.

Also the assessment period is quite long so she may be seen in time anyway.

Remember it takes 26 weeks for a stat assessment so dont get too disheartened when you dont hear anything for a while.
