Just wondering how DD2 is getting on at school full time?

Sorry if you've already posted on it, but can't find anything.

Thank you for asking, she managed 3 whole days last week (2 of which her TA was off sick), SENCO tells me she is doing well but i get all my info from dd1 who tells me that dd2 had a meltdown in PE because she doesn't like the hall.

She's doing a lot better than i though she would (after how she was last week) and she now asks to go to school in the morning instead of begging to stay at home.

I'm going on a course in 2 weeks time with her TA to learn about sensory problems and get some tips on body brushing ect..

Fingers crossed she will manage a whole week next week, i just hope she doesn't come down with the flu (which dd1 has), if she has anytime off i will have the same problem again getting her back in.

That is excellent Marne! Also good that her 1:1 is doing a course with you, hopeuflly will help her understand your DD more. :)

DS2 did not do PE or assembly for his first year of school, because he couldn't handle the noise/echoing. We bought some ear defenders and his 1:1 done some intergration (I think thats what it is called) where they sat at a desk near the hall to do some fun stuff, then very gradually moved the desk closer to the door, in the doorway, just into the hall and finally all the way into the hall. Took nearly the full year but he now manages PE and occasionally assembly, but will leave if they start singing.

Thank you, we had some succes with ear defenders then she had a meltdown in the hall at lunch time (we are unsure what triggered it) and now refusses to go anywhere near the hall. She doesn't go to assembly, has lunch in the class room with her TA and has now (i think) been pulled out of PE Sad, OT are going to work with the school to get her back into the hall.

Spoke to soon, dd2 is now led on the sofa with a high temp (40) Sad, looks like she won't do a full week next week after all Sad.

Oh no Sad. Hope she is feeling better before Monday.
