Anyone know anything about Judicial Reviews?

Trying to psyche myself up / educate myself for worst-case scenario on Tuesday when ds's case goes to panel again. (Ds has had revised final statement for almost 11 weeks but the bulk of it still isn't being implemented.) Have been advised this is the next step, but it's not to be entered into light-heartedly. Quick google not making it any clearer.
Thanks.

Bumping because would also like to know answer. Ds has a final statement which still names mainstream school he refuses to attend so he can't access support named in his statement. Lea won't budge on special school placement. Is judicial review likely to be quicker route than going to tribunal?

Bump as I'm interested too.

I don't get it. Is the final statement crap or are they just not doing what it says in it?

If it's the first, you'd do Tribunal not JR. If it's the second, you'd write to the LA, telling them to make the school follow the Statement.

LEA settled 10 days before tribunal. Statement now very good imo (if we could only get it!).

School then said they wouldn't support it as it wan't consistent with his diagnosis and was based on advice of people with financial interest (complete bollocks).

Went to panel 6 weeks later and with some "gentle nudging" we got approval to proceed.

Now they're saying it's too expensive.

LEA knew school unable to implement statement as no resources to do it. Having to get private therapists in. Hence the cost issue.

Have written to LEA about this quite a few times, but is getting us nowhere fast!

Pinkorkid - Would have thought you need to take your LEA to tribunal to change school. Assume would also mean a rewrite of statement as setting completely different.

thanks yomellamo,
We are already going down the tribunal route - I think I was just hoping there might be a quicker route. I hate the thought of it being another 6 months before anything is sorted for ds.
