boiler has bust

landlord dont rush to fix nothing! we are freezing and have no access to hot water! want to move but its hard to find landlords who accept DSS :(

Legally your landlord has to carry out repairs within a reasonable timescale.

When my heating went on the blink I contacted Shelter who told me I should allow 48 hours then get 3 quotes of my own, show them to my LL and if he still didnt do anything to go with the lowest quote then deduct the amount from the rent.

my rent is paid for me so cant do that but i might contact shelter or CAB. it has already been over 24 hours

Shelter were really fantastic. The guy on the phone was really helpful and told us the exact procedures and helped us with wording a letter.

Worth a call.

Ug don't we gave had several spells with boiler problems .I now have back up oiled filled radaitors .

None over Xmas either but that was water boards fault
