Hi. DD1 has verbal dyspraxia. Her pre-school is starting to teach phonics to her in January and I'm a bit worried about mixing her up with the sounds and images we have for the nuffield dyspraxia programme.

School have offered to do literacy in a different way (unspecified) if i have any concerns and it can all be put in her IEP.

Anyone got any experience/ advice?

Thanks

My DS initially had dual placement wit MS ans SS when he was in reception. The MS were bashing ahead with phonics (Jolly phonics) and because of the integrated approach to reading and writing at the same time the MS teacher told me my son would not be able to read as he couldn't learn how to write (poor motor skills)!! Basically I think it was down to the MS teacher not knowing how to teach reading any other way. So I think that they are not very imaginative at using other methods!
