save my arguments for something more worth it!

My DS school photo came in today and I am not overreacting but was devastated to see him on it with a runny nose; I couldnt see it on the little sample pic before I ordered.

There is a teacher in 2 TAs on 7 (sometimes 8) children, how could noone noticed it? I dont mind if it was anything else but the photo???

Please tell me I am overreacting cause I am in a such a bad mood, had all their Xmas presents in my car to give but after seeing it I feel like noone deserves it. The teacher is always lovely, smiley to me and DS adores her...one of the TAs is also lovely but the second who just joined the unit this year always look moody to me. Today I heard her telling off a little boy and he had his head buried in his chest and then shouted at him (didnt see me standing at the door). I am not saying our kids have to be spoiled at school but when that little boy (and she knows his comprehension is not great) would not benefit from that at all.

thx Starlight...I was more annoyed by the fact there are 3 teachers to 7 kids so someone should have noticed

Someone should have noticed-you are not over reacting

Al1son · 10/12/2010 16:36

Someone should have noticed. it's not rocket science. I would just return the photo and ask for a refund. You can buy one next year instead.

They never seem to care what the children look like. When dd was in primary they had the photos done after lunch and all crossed the playground in the pouring rain. In her photo dd's hair was in rats tails and plastered to her head, I don't know how they even imagined I'd want to buy it!

I'm afraid I go round making sure everything is tucked in and and crusties and dribblies are sorted out before I let my class in front of the photographer!!

The thought of my DS' photo turning up like that is awful. It's about dignity really.

purplepidjbauble · 10/12/2010 18:53

I'd say something. I don't let the people I work with out of the door with food round their mouths/dirty clothes/snot dribbling!!!

Eveiebaby · 10/12/2010 20:03

I would mention to teacher that you are disappointed with the photo and if you have already paid money ask for a refund. It may be like you that the staff just looked at sample shot afterwards and thought all looked ok - but to be honest if there are three staff to a maximum of eight children it is a bit poor. You are not being unreasonable.

Contact the photographer and ask them to photoshop the pic to get rid of the snotty nose, its easily done. Looking at the photo would drive me mad! Not really the staffs fault they were maybe busy organising everyone, possbley all the kids had runny noses!.

elliejjtiny · 10/12/2010 20:41

If you don't get any joy with the photographer then I can ask DH if he can photoshop the snot for you. Hopefully he can do it, he has got rid of a graze successfully but I can imagine snot would be trickier as it's less noticeable. I understand if you don't want to send your DS's photo to a stranger though.

If it's any consolation I fell off a bench a few days before school photo day in year 8 and I have a huge purple bruise on my chin in the photo. My mum bought it and sent a copy to my granny (cringe)

If it makes you feel any better my ds had his school picture taken "with no problems at all" according to his teacher.

Was very pleased untill he didn't bring it home. Turned out that he had somehow bypassed the queue - no-one even noticed!!!

They have promised to take one of him when they do the class ones in March..... will have to see what happens...

meltedmarsbars · 11/12/2010 13:42

I have known the photographer to come back to re-take individual pictures when there was a problem.
