i feel really low today, all my son's class has moved up a level some are on level 3 and he is still struggling on level 1 with his sounds.

he has a special need teacher, and has salts just awaiting for the peadtraction (sp) to make a diagnosis.

i am just getting to me that he is struggling, and becausse he is struggling he hits out.

i know there is no answers or advice, but really needed to write it down

it's certainly ok to post. Sorry it's tough for you and him and it's getting to you. Not the same but I've been looking at a SN secondary for my son and it scares the hell out of me. Really don't know how he's going to cope just with moving class to class let alone the rest of it. Really sucks.

Welcome to you.

You're in the right place though, the Special Needs: Children Board is really active on all of this.

You're not alone.

My son (10) was doing well in mainstream but is now slipping further and further behind. He's recently dx with OCD/Tourettes additional to ASD (co-morbid apparently, oh happy days!!)

It's hard watching your child struggle. Are school supporting YOU as well? Does he just need more one to one/small group work to enable him to catch up? Are they communicating with you?
