DD is meant to be going to neurosciences unit in Glasgow for appointment with team there - was tertiary referral and we have waited AGES for it, was dreading it but hoping to get some answers.

and I am going to have to cancel as she is really ill with a hideous stomach bug and has been since Thursday.

Aaaaaargh, the over a year of waiting to see if she has a progressive condition will drag on even more.

SadSad

Oh dear, sorry to read this.

When you phone them I would ask if you can go on a cancellation list, if thats possible for you to get there at short notice, then someone else might have to do the same as you and you will take their appointment.

nor that easy as it's in Glasgow and we are in edinburgh and I can't drive but will ask.

i can't imagine we are the only people who have had to cancel at rhe moment. Sad

got through to a rather uninterested woman who said she'd speak to consultant and send out another pt, i asked about cancellations as we have waited a long time for the appt and she said she'll 'see what she has got' let's hope he will squeeze her in as it's fairly urgent i think.

prob a bit unfair to say disinterested, hopefully she is one of the good receptionists (like me Grin) and will sort something out.

of course now I am worried it's some rare neurometabolic linness making her so sick (that's why we were referred, neuro here thinks she has that).
i know it's more than likely a stomach bug but will probably call GP again.
