ds is still only attending pre school for 10 hours a week. all he is allowed to until he gets 1:1. have had to fill out a caf in order to fill out inclusion funding form. funding can't be given until jan at earliest. today i told pre school i want him in for 15 hours like any other child or i shall make an official complaint about ds's lack of hours, support etc..
i asked ds's paed to write to the lea early years panel and pre school in july informing them of his suspected asd and adhd. he did and said although ds isn't diagnosed he should be treated AS IF he has a diagnosis for BOTH.
Was told today that they still don't know if DS can go for 3 hours in Jan.
It's not bloody good enough.
I said i'll make an official complaint if it's not sorted by then.
Now I know ds isn't receiving enough hours and under the Disability discrimination act its illegal as he is being treated less favourably than all the other 3 year olds who receive 15 hours childcare per week.Told them i'd be going to Shire Hall and MP. Who else should i go to? ds clearly needs 1:1. he didn't ask to be autistic so shouldn't be punished.
Can't send off statement application yet as need ed psych's final report and he's visiting 1st dec.

many thanks

You need to persist. Do what you have to do. Do not give up.
Thats what they want you to do and its a disgrace.

im not saying what they are doing is right, but anychance you could look at shared placement for him? We do this for DD2, doesnt matter how you use your 15 hours, you could even ask private nursery to cover 5 hours you need.
I would complain though they sounds terrible and TBH they have pots of funds to cover until 1-1 is agreed.

thanks. where do the pots of money come from? who should i ask as so fed up of the whole bloody system? all they all seem to care about is saving £, not ds and his right to an equal education.

they all have budgets and they have to keep some for SN. Some of the nurseries are better than others. I would be asking MP for money as clealry they havent budgeted well for the term seeing as they have no money before the first term Hmm

I would send your letter to a number of different people: your county coucillor (you can look this up online), the head of children and young people's services at your council, the SN officer at the council and your MP. I have found this gets a response. if you can bear it. I would also phone up the councillor and head of children and young people's services a few days later check they have got your letter and ask them what they are going to do to help you sort it all out. Their telephone numbers are listed publically as well. This might sound OTT and you may well be worried that you will look like a PITA but it got results for me.
