If u are awarded DLA does anyone know the rate for tax credits you get?

Also to get tax credits part do you have to get middle rate or above?

I am still waiting to hear re my DLA but just thinking ahead! x

yes to get extra on tax credits you need to get middle or higher care element. middle rate you get the disabled persons element (about £10 i think) of tax credits, higher rate care you also get the severe disabled person element (about £20 i think)

It says though if your child recieves HRC...thought it was MRC +

I put no for the HRC question although we get MRC and there is no question for that, they ask you what rate when you ring up anyway...it still said the same amount I had thought.

ColaFizz · 19/11/2010 19:06

My ds gets middle rate care n it depends on how much CTC you get. I get full amount CTC so got an extra £50 a week added on!!!! couldn't believe it

Anna85 · 19/11/2010 19:13

So that part is income assessed then....I get it now!!! We may not get a lot then! x

All the tax credits are based on your family income...does carers allowance count as income for tax credits?

SparkleRainbow · 19/11/2010 19:58

These are all good questions that had not even occurred to me....

ghoulsforgodot · 19/11/2010 20:04

yes wooly I think it does.

ouryve · 19/11/2010 20:38

Yes it does, wooly. It's taxable income.

woolytree · 19/11/2010 20:48

Ok doke...thanks. :) i havent got it yet but just planning ahead. So does DLA for DD count?

ouryve · 19/11/2010 20:59

DLA doesn't count as your income and it's not taxable.
