at my DD's (13) CAMHS review meeting today, i was told that they are requesting a 3di assessment. I know that this is a series of questions based on DDs abilities throughout her life, but i am a bit worriedBlush

Due to quite severe PND, then a series of meds when she was little, my memory is really quite poor as to when she started walking/talking etc. I do remember she had speech therapy, but cant remember the exact dates - i think she was three, but she could have been 4Confused I have been searching for her yellow baby book, which may have some details in - but are the assessors going to think i am daft if i cant remember?

What does 3di mean?

starfish71 · 11/11/2010 17:51

I was the same when I did the 3di, my memory is awful but just jot down anything you remember, ask family etc what they remember and take it with you.

It is a long questionaire but am sure some of the questions will jog your memory about things.

Try not to worry and just try your best to list anything you remember. Good luck

does 3di assess just for autism?

starfish71 · 11/11/2010 17:58

Yes I think so. It can identify autism, aspergers and pervasive developmental disorders. eg atypical autism.

thanks starfish. She said it would be a couple of month before the assessment, so i can do some swotting upGrin

c0rns1lk - DD (like a lot of youngsters) has quite a few different issues, some fit in with ASD, and others fit in with her dyspraxia and processing disorders. Her consultant thinks that this assessment would be best suited for her, and yes - they are assessing for ASD.

DLIguy - i found this quite interesting and informativeSmile
