DS had a lesson in school today that parents could attend. DS is in juniors and has AS and SPD.
I've been banging on for ages about his problems with attention etc. Of course, you always get 'he's fine'.
He is now undergoing statutory assesssment. School applied.
Well, it was awful. I felt embarrassed for him as the children sat on the floor at circle time. He was all over the place - lying on the floor sucking his laces, licking his shoes and not listening to a word of what was going on.
When he got back to the table, he thought we were doing something else entirely.
I was in tears after the class as he'd also been given time out for hitting someone today. He basically has no support whilst awaiting SA.
I spoke to his teacher and he said he had never seen DS like this before. I see him like that all the time and he is certainly like that on school trips that I've been on. He said if DS had been like that before he would have been shouting for help.
This teacher has been pretty straight to date but I just don't believe they don''t see this on a regular basis. Maybe not as bad, but they must see it sometimes.
DS never knows what is homework is or wether he's supposed to be doing stuff. I just don't believe they don't see it. I think they just think he's not harming anyone so they leave him to it.
I'm so pissed off. Why does it have to be a constant battle? I knew he was really tired today. I should have kept him off.
