Everyone I have spoken to about her describes her as a Dragon who is very Anti-statement, and she is coming to my house on Tuesday (am waiting for her visit before sending in my SA request).

I am quaking about it already Blush

Being anti statement is a GOOD thing you know. It means you have leverage to demand lots of provision without a statement and then once you have got it, you can apply for a statement for more.

LucindaCarlisle · 05/11/2010 14:38

That sounds very unusual.

I read your other post about being in Notts - I'm pretty sure everyone there is anti-statementing. There are other posters here in the county I think.

Don't focus on the statement with the EP, just try to get her to discuss strategies and what kind of provision she recommends.

DeadlyNightShadeofViolet · 05/11/2010 14:51

Its not unusual around here. Everyone that works for the council seems to be very snti-statement because thats the councils policy.

Thanks Sugar - I am so green when it comes to all this and I panic at the hint of something official.

"I am so green when it comes to all this and I panic at the hint of something official."

That is a fine description of muggings here! Grin
I'm just the same. Blush

Good luck with the appointment.
Will it be just you and her or do you have support from a friend or DP?

fightingthezombies · 05/11/2010 16:01

Try not to pre-judge. I met our EP several years ago and didn't get on with her at all. Saw her this year for sm assessment, was dreading it but we got on like a house on fire. She was the only professional who totally 'got' ds and she was really 'spot on' with her observations. So give her a chance. Let us know how you get on.

Don't mention Statements at all. If she comes out with the 'we don't do statements' nonsense just remind her that the LA for which she works must follow the SEN COP so her own personal views are immaterial and must not prejudice due process.

That should shut her up Grin

genieinabottle · 05/11/2010 17:37

Am going to pinch that line WetAugust! Grin

DeadlyNightShadeofViolet · 05/11/2010 23:01

I like that line WetAugust :o
