DLA AWARDED after RECONSIDERATION

Got a letter today....saying leigh has been awareded DLA!!!

As you are aware this has been a long slog- they refused it at first- i then requested a reconsideration... the paed called me 10 days ago to get info to help her fill in the form they sent her...she must of returned it straight after ...

I dreaded opening the envelope as it was very thin...and the 'award' letters are always thick...but this letter simply states the ammount they are paying into my acct (backdated) and then adds that i will get a leeter fully explaining the award seperately.

So all i am hoping is that leigh gets low mobility and mid care...and the icing on the cake would be that it's set (like tom's) till he is 16...

Great news Mrs F, and well done to you for all your hard work. I've just had a two hour meeting with the CAB benefits chappie who's gone over all my reconsideration papers with a fine tooth comb, wattaguy! Should have all mine in the post by Monday. Hope fortune smiles on me too.

Absolutely fab news MrsF - its a great feeling to get what we are entitled to isn't it! especially after filling out such soul destroying forms!

Well done, Tc

Send some of that DLA good luck my way, MrsF. It looks like I'm in for a looooooong wait.

I sent Section 2 back in late June. In mid-July I got a letter apologising that it was taking so long. I phoned just before the August Bank Holiday to find out what was going on and was told ds2's claim was still with the decision-maker. I've just phoned again and now they say they are waiting for the Paed's report - after writing to him 3 weeks ago. They were given the Paed's contact details in Section 1 which I sent them in MAY! Why did they only write to him at the end of August????

AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Congrats Mrs FF!!!!I've got my health visitor today coming round to help me fill ours in, I've ummed and ahhed for a year about doing it but with dd'd balance and sight problems I think I now can justify asking for it.
I've been told to use the ongest medical terms and jargon I can to describe her issues, is this really right? And describe the worst days not the best days etc?
Feels so underhand to get something one assumes you are entitled to!

congrats mrs F - and hopefully the same good news is on its way to you ct.
