Hi all.. we have an appointment in the morning for Dd3 with a new pead. I have been gathering evidence to support our feelings that she has an ASD. I have been keeping a diary and have made some other notes on things we have problems with. I have also printed off some articles about girls with AS and how they often camoflage their problems at school and then let rip when thy come home[ boys do this too I know]. I have also gone through Tony Attwood and underlined and post it noted a load of pages.

The problem is I don't know what to take with me. Shall I take it all or just the diary and my notes.
Dsis thinks he will just start again and do the history stuff, aaarrrggghhh, I will go mad if he does. I hope he will at least have read the notes.
I think I need to calm down and eat chocolate[hgrin].

Take as much as you can possibly carry. He'll probably take as much backround as he needs (DS2's nea paed done this) and might ask questions you've already answered several times.

Good luck, you sound armed and ready for it :)

OMG, He'll probably just look at you in horror, ask what diagnosis you want and fill in your DLA form for you!!!!

LOL

No, it's all good. How would you feel if you don't get the outcome you feel is right and you had left something out?

I have a big lever-arch file with dividers and post-its and highlighting.
It makes an impressive 'thwack' on the table.
I'd also make a bullet pointed list of the key points directly related to your DD, and have a copy for him.

LOL stark thats kinda what my GP does[hgrin].
I don't know about getting the right outcome... I just want someone to take me seriously.

Goblin loving the sound of your file, I think the Guide to Aspergers would probably make a good sound too.. I have used the effecient diary that someone on here told us about the other day, I have done headings such as ToM, social, routines. etc aswell as dates.
I just need to keep my fingers crossed that he is willing to listen to us.

Thanx for your replies all help gratefully recieved.[hsmile].
