Hi All, I'm after a bit of advice. My DS has DS, and I was told right from the start that she would probably always have a low-ish immune system. And she really does, she catches everything going bless her, she's constantly poorly! Anyone know of any herbal remedies or vitamins that are available (and safe) for me to give her (baring in mind she's only 13m old)? Obviously the best thing to do would be give her certain foods, but she still doesn't have a single tooth and really struggles with solid food! I just want to give her a little helping had that's all... :)

Tricky as he's so young. 'WellKids' do a syrup for babies that include multi-vitamins. It sounds like the main vitamin he may need a boost in is 'B12'. It helps the immune system develop (google to make sure I've got my facts right). I use the 'WellKids' for my son and it definitely helps him - you can buy in Tescos for about £5.50. Good luck Smile

Extra vitamins are a good idea, as is fish oil if you can get her to take it in any form

I give both Dds a product called Sambucol which is based on black elderberry - a herbal antiviral. You can get in in most chemists I think. I've just looked on the bottle & it says you can give it from 1 year. It tastes a bit like boiled sweets so very easy to take. We've had very good results - I think - Dd1 especially seemed to be very susceptible to colds has improved massively - even if she gets a slight sniffle now it seems to pass in a few days without it turning into anything serious

That's brilliant, thanks for the tips guys :) I will look into all of these.

Although, I DID mean DD, not DS. She is my DD with DS... lol... Can't even get simple facts right! I'm a terrible mother! Confused
