Aaargh! Sounds awful.

I'm fairly sure there is some medical term for this (premature puberty?) and they can give her medicing to delay it.

I read a thread about it on one of the other MN boards. Maybe post in the health section?

I don't think it is anything at all to do with her SN.

I googled autism and precocious puberty ( that's the medical term for it) and there seems to be a strong link!! I am devastated, I was dreading this at 12 or 13, but 6 !!! FFS give me a break !!! Aaarrgghhhh

I know they do a blood test to confirm things and it takes a few months for results ???? So my gp told me when she was brushing me off before.... Why don't they give the mothers the benefit of the doubt at this stage !!!!! Then they can give hormone injections to stop the process... I'm just afriad now cause things seem to moving very fast with her!! Why didn't they just listen to me months ago and do the test then!!

Oh, this sounds awful for you Sad

My dd is 9, but had to start using deodorant a year ago and has breast buds already -needs to wear a little cropped top-type thing.
She also has greasy skin around her nose and chin and has developed a waist (that started to appear last year).

She has AS. I had no idea there was a link.
Hope you can get some joy with her paed soon.

Have to say no advice but this is one of my biggest fears Sad

A freind's dd satrted her periods at 8, she has asd.

Luckily school were on board quickly and helped out so it ahsn;t been as traumatic as it could have been but I would definitely see the GP yes.

Ds2 started the first bit of pubery last year at eleven.. Which is two years younger than NT ds1.
I put it down to both me and his dad were early.. I was 9 when my periods started and ex had a chest full of hair and had totally bulked out when he was 15!
I dont cone out on the spectrum at all.. But ex Id put money on it that he's on the spectrum.

Dd(7) has started with the wiffy pits.. She's nt but I think she is just going to take after me!

Our boys seem interesting; ds2 has been hairy since he was about 5 tbh, he's 9 and certainly is hirsute now (probable ADD, two asd siblings).

DS1 gives the impression at ten that puberty is close too. His dad was shaving at 12, but I didn;t start my periods (and probably do ahve soem asd) until 16.
