Tribunal Win ABA

Have had to name change for this one post as anyone in my LA would really be able to identify me for this one!

I have already emailed Star and received a lovely message back. We have succeeded in winning a fulltime ABA package (35 hours a week 48 weeks a year) for DS3 (not quite 4) at tribunal to be implemented both at home and at nursery. Just wanted to encourage everyone out there to keep going even when the world seems to be against you as it has on the many occasions over the past 16 months it has taken to get to this point. Our LA put up a pretty poor package (no specified SALT or outreach and failure to put any programmes into effect for a whole year - which of course they falsely blamed on us being obstructive). Thankfully the Tribunal found an unspecified package with no programmes was not a credible plan. Just wanted to say a massive thank you to all those who have listened to me rant over the past year - at times I have felt pretty near the edge of what I could tolerate watching DS be failed. I want especially to say a big thank you to those who have shared their own knowledge and wisdom and at times draft documents with me - you know who you are. I know many of you have not been able to fully win your own battles but am just so grateful for all the help and support I have got from this board over the past year and offer some hope that there are some good guys out there. I don't suppose the good feeling will last for long - am sure the LA are already plotting how to take it off us - but a good day AT LAST. DS3 will not know what will hit him bless him and DS2 is already moaning it means less time on the wii as the lounge will be out of bounds.

Congrats - it's brilliant news. When we won specialist ASD school for ds1, it was like a massive weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Enjoy the feeling.
