Just a quick note to let people know something about DLA.
DLA renewal forms are sent out around 6 months before they need to be renewed. I filled in DD1's in the hope that she would be uprated.
Today I was told that DD1 is being uprated to HRC/HRM, which is great
but the effective date is her Birthday, the date of renewal, which is 6 weeks away.
When I queried it, the lady said that because I had submitted a renewal it goes from the renewal date. If I had submitted a supercession request it would have gone from the date the claim form was received
Now, I have to decide whether to ask for reconsideration and there is a risk that the person reconsidering will down-rate the mobility again.
So, if anyone is ever doing a renewal, and feels that they should be uprated, consider asking for a supercession instead, so that the effective date is the date they get the claim form.
