discussing ds & his progress with SALT for her latest report (that's all she does, writes reports).

'Of course you might think it is the ABA, but mum* must be doing loads too'

!

What does that mean? Yes I am doing loads, constantly - I never stop & most of the time I'm close to/actually crying with exhaustion & worry - but what I do is ABA. Does she mean I can't be doing ABA because I'm his mum or that anything I did would be effective because I'm his mum? Is there some secret evidence based Mummy therapy I'm not aware of?

Why do they hate ABA so much?

This is the SALT who told my mum** that '[she'd] done lots of work with autism & never made much progress' She works with the EP who claimed ds would never talk but not to worry they weren't writing him off because special school would make it all okay.

*WTF? Mum ie me is the one sat talking to her, surely that takes using 'mum' as a pronoun to extremes?

(** my mum shares an office with the psychs, they don't have much idea about confidentiality)
