Annual review advice please

The first annual review of DD's Statement is now in less than 2 weeks. I have submitted my parental views, but I haven't received any reports from anyone else.

I thought that legally, all the reports HAD to be circulated at least 2 weeks before the meeting.

Anyone know where I stand legally?

Thank you!

We've has this before. If you really want to, you could contact them, say 13 days before and ask for the meeting to be re-scheduled as you have not have the reports 14 days in advance, as per section (whatever) of the SEN Code of Practice.

In reality, it's often not the school's fault as the outside agencies often take ages to send reports. I usually write in about 13 days before, asking for reports ASAP as per the relevant bit of the COP.

Thank you - I have written a polite but firm email to the school, though as you say, it is probably the the external agencies who are dragging their feet.

Will let you know how it goes.

Had a reply from the school, saying that they haven't received any reports.

The school haven't sent me the report that they will be submitting either!

They seem to think that I am just making a fuss!

BUT I consider that I am seriously disadvantaged by not received the reports, particularly as I have submitted our parent views on time - so they have my views, but I don't have theirs!

On top of which, the law says the reports MUST be circulated at least 2 weeks before the Annual Review, but then again, my LA think that SEN law doesn't apply to them. Angry

Then give them a deadline (I would suggest giving them a day to get the reports together) and say that if reports aren't received by then, you want the Annual Review re-scheduling. Then they can get all their reports together for the new deadline. It's unacceptable that even school haven't bothered. As you say, you've done yours but not got theirs so they have time for discussions and dodgy deals around it all while you don't know their case. Angry for you.
