Stat assessment question

Our parental statement for the SA process has to be in by the 18th October. A decision on a statement is to be made by 30th November.

DS is not seeing the EP until 9th November.

Is the evidence we wish to submit in support the same as the deadline for our statement?

I am assuming this will have to go to Tribunal in any event so we can file then.

Are you saying that the EP appt might make a difference to the parent's contribution you submit?

I phoned our SEN services because I was near the deadline and wanted to wait a couple of extra days. They just said get it to us when you can. I'd try ringing yours to explain what you want to do and why.

Ah crossed post - that makes sense.

Sad that you have to be preparing for the tribunal before you even get a proposed statement.

Well our LA is running a £11m deficit. I think no one is getting statements, so I'm banking on a Notice in Lieu and having to appeal.

Hi Star, it's not about needing the EP's report so I can work out what goes in my statement but about whether there is a date by which all evidence has to be filed.

I wondered whether the LA will be able to accept and consider the EP's report before making a decision on a statement.

Sorry, I'm probably explaining it badly! Tred and coldey

Yes, Star, I told the LA EP that when we met a while back and she actually mentioned it herself when we saw her this week.

We saw the community paed today and she mentioend that the LA had lost a few cases recently and it was costing them alot of money.

Thanks guys. So, I can't file my independent EP's statement by the time I need to, but, I will be able to use it:

(i) to challenge the decision not to grant a statement at Tribunal

or

(ii) to challenge the proposed provision in any statement

Is that right?
