head-rolling

Does anybody else's dc with ASD roll their head when they're going to sleep?

I was thinking of this because of the stim thread and ds1's main stim is violent head rolling at bedtime.

Sometimes I worry about it, he can keep it up for ages, an hour or two if he wakes up in the night.

He says it makes music in his head that helps him sleep (I assume also helps him to shut out anxious thoughts).

Does anyone else have this?

sorry Niminypiminy-i missed youre post.
when my daughter was [about]between 1 year old and [about]3 she did this.
she also used to lift her legs up and then bang them down-then start again.
all this used to go on for ages.
it used to worry me at the time but she eventually stopped it-and went on to something else.

Yep ds1 did the banging the legs up and down again, also used to get up into crawling position and rock violently back and forth -- so much so the cot would move across the room. But he's 7 and still going with the head-rolling so it seems as if it's a fixed habit. Can't help worrying about it.
