This really does seem to be an awful week for so many of us and I am trying to think of a way to get us all smiling.
On the back of this thread -have you 'caught' any of your dc's SN traits? We spend so much time dealing with them, I think it's inevitableSmile

As well as the ones I mentioned on the other thread, I once found myself clearing my throat, then saying 'yeah!' as was dd's stim of choice at the time Grin
I also find myself noticing turned corners on magazines and/or creases on the pages.

Anyone else?

I frequently say 'whole wide world' to DD1. She uses it in lots of sentence. "We get cars whole wide world" - translated - our car is the best!. It is so significant to her, that I use it with her. So I say "It's the cheese whole wide world, DD1" - It's the best cheese in the world. Her little grin is priceless!

I go around blowing raspberries, after trying to make ds do it for so long I got a few Hmm looks and people noticable moving away from me in 'next' today after they saw me blowing raspberries at a pair of jeans!

She did well, I think. She only went from 09.00-11.45. We got there, I undid her crelling harness and she was gone - she spotted the playground. Apparently had a few tears when she came inside and realised I was gone, but when I arrived she said "I had great fun day, Mummy". She was playing with a pot of buttons, thoroughly enthralled.

It was such a relief to know she is in a safe place. The door to the classroom has two handles, one low, one high, so she can't get out. She is in a class of 10 with 4 staff, and they are all just lovely.

I met a couple of the other children when I went to get her, and they were COOL!! Just like DD1, totally inappropriately familiar Grin. One of the boys started to fiddle with my Blackberry (it is in a little holster attached to my jeans) and I let him play with it - the teacher was a bit pale, but I said to him loudly "Look, it has rubber around it, so it bounces" Grin

I am very aware that DD1 is a young one, but probably the most verbal in the class, but I think she will be fine. Smile

We often all play at spotting number 4s...DDs fav number, extra points for blue ones. :)

...or windmills. We always say 'its too very very far away.' Shes scared of them close up.

...She joins in at the game DH and I play 'yellow car'...spot a yellow car, first to shout it gets a point...not allowed vans, buses or taxis...or cream or gold cars. :)

And we all indulge her in her Mickey Mouse fantasy, so I AM Minnie Mummy, theres also Daddy Goofy, Daisy Grandma, Donald Dandad and DS is Lollo...Pluto. She re enacts an episode and I do as instructed,,,including the Hotdog Dance Minnie stylee....though I dont do that bit on the bus! Grin
