School Action Plus and IEP

Apologies if this has been asked before. Ds2 will be having an OT come in to observe and assess him in school, then offer weekly sessions. I presume this means he's moved up to School Action Plus - does this also mean he has, or gets, an IEP? It would be good to have his additional needs formalised - and I wish the school had done this 2 yrs ago when he was in Reception and I first spoke to the SENCO!

...yes any measures they are taking should be documented and measured either in a 'provision plan' or an IEP - even when he is on School Action.

thank you - so really they should have showed me a plan last year too (when he was on School Action)? I am going to make an appt with the class teacher in any case but wanted to check here beforehand! It would be particularly good to see if the school have actually done any before and after assessments to see what might be working.
