Fish Oils and Mercury

I've been giving my DS boots fish oil supplement on school days for about a year now, and am fairly sure it helps with his anxiety and calmness. ( Although recently also done lots of other work in this area, so no longer sure how much of an effect the fish oil is having...)

Anyway someone on another board said that fish oils supplements contain PCBs which are bad for you and are somehow related to mercury.

Now I'm very concerned about Mercury and my son because his problems started the day after his 3 month jab - so I think it is caused by mercury poisoning.

Anyway, does anyone know anything about this? Are fish oil suppliments a good idea to take if you're worried about mercury and other toxins in your aspies diet?

If you're worried about mercury, buy the Nordic Naturals oils, you can get them in health shops and online and they are guaranteed pure :)

I think you need to be quite careful with them, and go for the purest ones you can find (not cheap!)

I used Nordic Naturals with dd1 (must get some more, actually, as they did help) - as recommended by her nutritionist who specialises in ASD gut issues.
