So hard to see it in black and white.

Nothing unexpected just so sad to read that ds is not going to gain full independence.

Dx, all the 1% percentiles, and IQ really don't matter.

It is hard when you get a DX - its so final then.

Take a few days, cry and scream as much as you want to. Hopefully your DX will mean more support or you.

I'm sorry remembering see it on black and White and just made it more real

So much harder in black and white.

All of us here who have been through it know how you feel.

Take as long as you want. You don't have to be 'brave'.

It's a kind of grief, I suppose.

Sad

Thanks ladies.

He still has a beautiful smile and is the same little boy as yesterday.

Just so real now, no more pretending it's all going to be ok.

It was a bit mind blowing when CP told us but the written words are just so hard.

I'm sorry Bluesunbeam. He's your lovely boy, take time to grieve, be kind and gentle to yourself x

I agree, horrible seeing it in black and white, I cried for ages and it took me a while to realise that words on a piece of paper made no difference to my beautiful DS1 who as you say was the same boy I adored the day before and it won't make any difference to the man he will become.

His consultant said to him he was fine, just wired a little differently but perfectly for him, and that's how I look at it, so no predicted future as for the masses. It's all going to be ok, just your own brand of ok, not available to everyone!
