may i have a little help please

im still trying to work this forum out lol, but... i seen a thread the other day discussing door locks that dc cant open, we are in need of something due to my sons attraction to sharp objects and me but i have normal snibs on the doors but he can get in even with them up high, can anyone recommend something, just to confirm our livingroom and kitchen are seperate from the bedrooms and you go thru the livingroom to get to the kitchen so no fire risk what so ever, thank you in advance girls xx nikita xx
