If dd2 was on mobility could we get a disabled space outside our house?

We get the keys to our new house next week, the house is great but parking is going to be a problem, there is a space rite outside the front door but spaces are not allocated and most houses on the road have 2-3 cars (teenage children, work vans ect). Dd2 is a runner and the culdisack is near a main road, i really need to be able to park near our house. We havn't tried to get mobility for either dd's, if we did have mobility could the council give us a disabled parking space (the space by our front door)? Dh (possibly AS) is getting really stessed about the parking situation which is putting a bit of a downer on the move Sad. We have 2 cars and would really like to be able to park 1 of them near our house, at the moment there is no where to park at all as the next door neighbour has one of her cars in the space outside our house.

No, not without a fight. Councils assume that if children have blue badges/HRM they can be dropped off outside the front door whilst you ifnd a parking space. Hmm

Oh such understanding they show!

lol, i love the way they think Hmm, they clearly have no idea do they?

Dh is going to ask them if we can take down part of the fence to the garden to proovide a parking space, i don't think they will let us though Sad.

In my area, a blue badge holder can ask for disabled parking outside their house if they don't have a driveway.

The anoying thig is,there is a drive way (2 spaces, one outside our door and one next door) but its done on a first come first serve kind of thing, i don't want to fall out with the neighbours as soon as we move in but surely this space should be for us to park in?

We will talk to the housing office on tuesday when we pick the keys up.
