I just thought I would come on and see if there were any parents in my immediate area.

I have nothing in particular to rant about right now but my story can be found on the following link.

web.me.com/leochapple

I look forward to catching up with like minded parents.

Helen

He's a beauty! What a lovely website. We're not near you but we are near Cornwall!

oh he is gorgeous. I have a little - actually not so little girl who happens to have down syndrome. She is now 8 and doing really well. She was born with a Complete AVSD which needed repair. She had that at 8 weeks old at the Brompton in London.

She is a scream - although at the moment she is too busy screaming at her sisters. Grin

Hi Helen,
sorry we are not in your area, however I do have a son with down syndrome among other medical problems and dx's. He's nearly 10, we have been through loads of issues, some of which are not sorted yet!!
Had a quick look at your front page, he's lovely. Enjoy and well done with the blog, keep it up (I wish I could do something similar)
take care x

Brilliant responses, thank you. The website itself was simple to do and was merely a template/layout that I typed my information on to. Trust me, if I can do it, anyone can!

In a matter of days it'd had 200 hits so it's a great way to get our message across.

Saintly Dame, where are you exactly and what is the support like in your area?

I can tell you that the support in Lincoln is pants and unless you ask the right question of the right person, and catch that person in a good mood, it seems almost impossible.

Don't even get me started on the hospital. Wherever possible, we travel the extra hour and a half to Nottingham, who are fantastic!

Anyway, thanks again!

Helen
