My ds1 (almost 4) hasn't really done "How?" questions till now and the one he's chosen to start with is "How do babies come out?" Grin I'm looking for suitable answers for an almost 4 yr old with mild ASD.

I tried the reply "babies come out when the mummies go to hospital" but he keeps asking so he is obviously looking for more of an answer. I'm currently pregnant so it will not be forgotten about.
I want to give an answer that is truthful but at a level he will be able to understand. I am not in for too much information or correct biological terms but would welcome any suggestions that you may have.
I have also posted this on chat.
Many Thanks
ellie

I went for the honest approach with my ds (asd), but he kept asking more and more questions, so much so that I ended up explaining pretty much everything about how a baby was made and how it comes out. He started giggling hysterically and couldn't stop, so I asked him if he thought it was funny. He said , "no, but a fly nearly landed on your nose".

So, if he's owt like my lad, then just answer all his questions. Once he knew what happened his curiosity was satisfied. Good luck.
