I have VW vectra if you want to know about that.

We have driver plus 2 bench seat in front then 2 more seats in tandem in back, and room for dd2's biggest outdoor power chair, and lots of luggage. All seats are not what you might call plush.

We have a manual ramp and winch in case the power chair battery ever goes.

If I did it again and had lots of money I'd go for extra speakers in the back and also an operational window in the back. And I'd go for the tail lift.

We have the aircon but in such a big space its not really effective. We have tinted windows to reduce the heat and for privacy.

No idea what the mpg is - their website might tell you. Got it from the Widnes people.

What are the Widnes people like for deliverary times? That's who am looking at

Only prob with ramps is the child gets very heavy to push up. Thats why I envy tail - lifts.

Not good if they break, though!

meltedmarsbars · 09/08/2010 17:36

Sorry, don't know about delivery times - we got it 2 or 3 years ago.

roundthebend4 · 09/08/2010 17:52

Ty yes they said tail lift lookimg ahead ds is small now at 5 might nit be so eAsy at 10ut guess worse case scenario were have to use his manual chair or make sure we least gave ramps at home in case of emergencys

OP posts:
snowmash · 09/08/2010 17:54

I wonder if you can get those hook on straps that help pull a chair up a ramp in a motability car? (like the ones on some of the patient transport)

meltedmarsbars · 09/08/2010 22:11

Snowmash, we have a motorised winch to pull the chair up the ramp if we need it. Maybe thats what you mean?

Roundthebend4 - I also have a set of Unwin ramps but they are at home so no good if you are out if/when the tail-lift disaster happens!

snowmash · 09/08/2010 23:28

meltedmarsbars you're quite right - I couldn't think of the right words.

roundthebend4 · 10/08/2010 07:26

ug hmm think might be case for making sure have his manual one in the car to , mind can lift him down now think could be harder as gets older though he can always shuffle to edge and transfer that way i guess into manual becuase im not lifting his power chair down

Ug so much to think about
