We're moving on Thursday!

We got the keys to our house today and will be moving next Thursday.

We took DS2 there today to look at the house, get him ready for the big change, and he showed how excited he was by having the mother of all poos on the toilet . Lots of stimming from him from room to room, but so far so good. We've taken him past it a lot already, but he seems very excited about it so far. He is sleeping over at my dads house on the Wednesday night so we can take his bed apart and I won't get him back until the Thursday evening when his bedroom is all ready and we are all moved in.

He loved the garden as well, it's very secure for him, which is just what the doctor ordered.

TheArsenicCupCake · 23/07/2010 17:54

That's great stuff.. The poo happening hopefully will make it a bit more like home for him.

I know, very significant

TG, the council don;t hang about here, they give you a week to ship and and ship out. Luckily we had a few weeks grace while they did some renovations/repairs.

Were on the list here for needing 5 bed though Im happy to take a 4 but either way would need adaptions for ds3 .

Hut it's all imaterial as they informed me we don't have any 4 beds left let alone a 5 bed

Marne · 23/07/2010 21:58

roundthebend, it must be hard to get a 4 bed, there is only one 4 bed council house in our village and the family living in it only need a 3 . We are trying to get 3 bed and have just been moved to high priority band (after a long fight) but the council have not listed any 3 bed houses on their web site (biding system) for 4 weeks.

Could you get a 3 or 4 bed house with a dining room (so you can use it as a bedroom)?

5inthebed · 23/07/2010 22:28

Thats hard going RTB We've been waiting for three years for a house, we currently live in a flat. We (finally) got priority last month after DS2s SW wrote a letter on our behalf and got a house within 10 days. Its an already adapted house so we hit lucky there, probably why we got it so fast.

Marne, I can't believe you still haven't got anywhere. The house you so despately need is probably being lived in by a single person, but we'll not get into that conversation too much. MIL and DH's Uncle both live in massive three bed council houses with no intention of moving, even though they can't manage in it.

nope smalles they will let me take is a 4 bed with dining room and room for conversion.

they said Ds1 16 needs own room as now adult, ds13 has own room , dd needs own room and ds3 oh and one over for me . were top of the list but not going to go anywhere , for me its about security of somewhere , now if they buy place im renting then that solve everything

But so pleased you will have a garden it makes a big differance , bet your packing like mad, then thinking omg how much stuff do we have

Marne · 24/07/2010 09:12

Hopefully we will get something soon, they are trying to get us to bid on a 2 bed, its in the perfect place (the next village) but dd2 needs her own secure room (with gate on door), even if we put up a room divide she would still have access to dd1's room.

There are just not enough 3.4,5 bed houses, each week there are 13+ 1 bed houses listed and often no one even bids on them, when a 3 bed comes up 100's bid on them.

At least 5inthebed has good news, i'm really pleased for you, you won't know yourself with all the extra space and it will improve your ds's quality of life.
